herb sambol
Herb Sambol was born in Brooklyn, New York, grew up on the Jersey shore, and attended Oberlin Colllege, graduating in 1977. Post college, Herb worked in several congressional offices in Washington, DC, and also in professional campaign management and voter outreach.
Herb left Washington to start a career in real estate and hospitality, and for the last 25 years has had the opportunity to pursue a variety of interests, including infrastructure development, architecture and historic preservation, and environmental management.
Herb has been a regular on the East End for the last 20 years, and a resident of Sag Harbor for the last 10. A member of the Village Harbor Committee, Herb is also on the board of several nonprofits, including the Citizens Committee for New York and the Dawgpatch Bandits of Sag Harbor. He is on the Advisory Board of GallopNYC, which offers therapeutic riding services for underprivileged children and returning veterans, and is an executive director of the Sambol Family Foundation, whose wide-ranging interests include wildlife preservation and disaster relief.
